About

Save Our Sons Network is a collaboration of people dedicated to urban renewal and cultural empowerment. Our mission is to utilize hip hop culture, its music and other forms of expression as catalysts for positive change, supporting strong family structures and encouraging male involvement and youth participation through peer mentorship.

One of our aims is to get communities to better understand the cultural or historical significance and impact of hip-hop music... to get people to understand and approach hip-hop in the cultural context.

We value and are supportive of our country's institutions; at the same time we shirk traditional boundaries of the hegemonic to focus on the social, cultural, and anthropological impact of historical American values, that they may be embraced by the marginalized and realized in the urban context.

Although this is not  our "value statement". However at SOS we strongly value:

Community Engagement

We believe in the power of collaboration and community involvement to drive positive change.

Cultural Empowerment

We embrace urban culture as a tool for empowerment and self-expression, celebrating its richness and diversity.

Family Strengthening

We prioritize the reinforcement of positive family structures and the promotion of male involvement in nurturing healthy family environments.

Youth Empowerment:

We are committed to empowering young people through peer mentorship and providing opportunities for their growth and development.

Social Equity

We advocate for social justice and equality, striving to create inclusive spaces where everyone can thrive.
